Digital Communications Manager

Job description

The Digital Communications Manager implements the administration of the digital media of UWC Dilijan in line with the mission and values of UWC Dilijan and the communications strategies in place. The candidate will be joining a team of five, responsible for advancement, communications and fundraising.


The purpose of this role is to ensure the positioning of UWC Dilijan to maximize outreach aimed building up its reputation among the stakeholders, raising its profile in Armenia, the region and internationally and increasing fundraising targets. With the 10th anniversary of the school in 2024, this is going to be an especially intense period in the school’s development.

Main responsibilities

  • Works with the team to ensure all stakeholders are communicated duly and in a timely manner about a variety of events, initiatives and personal stories that add to the UWCD narrative;
  • Encourages and enables the engagement of students in the process of creation of visual and written content for the positioning through visibility and exposure to media at all stages, also ensuring that this is a means of expression and learning through experience for students;
  • Creates or collects through students, staff, alumni etc written and visual content;
  • Creates written and multimedia content, including but not limited to press releases, digital media posts, articles, videos, photos, graphic design and other;
  • Updates that the institution’s websites in a timely manner, with all content is valid and refreshed;
  • Manages digital media pages and provides digital media direction to staff and students;
    Contributes to and manages digital media pages for different projects at UWC Dilijan;
  • Tracks and analyses social media statistics to make decisions on further direction of social media campaigns;
  • Builds and maintains relations with influencers, developing and promoting stories;
  • Produces newsletters, mailings and other electronic communications as necessary.
  • Liaises with external videography vendors for the delivery of special content.
  • Participates in the relevant activities of UWC International with which UWC Dilijan is affiliated.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the line manager.

Social Media

  • Is in charge of daily management of the social media pages (posting, messages, tracking performance, analytics);
  • Monitors social media to find relevant content that can be reposted on our page, receiving consent prior to sharing a student’s post and tagging;
  • Monitors events and info occasions happening in the school, that might potentially be shared on our social media;
  • Runs social media campaigns and projects.

Media Club 

  • Mobilises interested students, guides them, encouraging to contribute video, photo and written content;
  • Works with students to create posts on social media pages;
  • Assigns coverage of different events to students.

Required qualifications and skills

  • Perfect English and Armenian; Russian as an advantage;
  • Excellent writing skills, journalistic set of mind;
  • Photo and video editing and basic design skills (Canva, Figma);
  • Experience in digital media, understanding of social media algorithms;
  • Social media targeting experience as an advantage;
  • Knowledge of website administration and Mailchimp is a plus;
  • Flexibility in terms of working hours, evening and weekend activities
