“My Aurora hero” international video competition for young people ages 14-18 –
your chance to win $1,000 for your favourite charity and $200 for you!

UWC Dilijan and the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative have teamed up to hold MY AURORA HERO — an international video competition for young people aged 14-18, which runs from October 4 till October 30, 2021.

The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, an organization focussed on empowering humanitarians around the world,  has prepared a unique program for the 2021 Aurora Prize Ceremony and accompanying events that will take place in Venice, Italy, on October 8–10. In accordance with the tradition established over the years, every Ceremony features carefully curated cultural impressions honoring the spirit of our shared humanity, and the events in Venice will include some outstanding performances to celebrate modern-day heroes. The prize will be awarded at an event on October 9 in the San Lazzaro Island, Venice, Italy, which will broadcast live at 4.00pm Armenian time.

The 2021 Aurora Prize Ceremony, titled “Reviving Together,” will be hosted by Dalia Atallah, Aurora’s Amal Clooney Scholarship Fellow and UWC Dilijan alumna from Lebanon. We hope that Aurora heroes will inspire you to reflect on heroes around you and to participate in an international competition MY AURORA HERO by submitting a one-minute video essay about a person in your life or wider community who is your hero and why.

One prize will be awarded by popular vote and the second by a jury. $1,000 cash prizes will go to the charities nominated by the winners with $200 cash reward to the winners themselves.
