Anano who came to UWC Dilijan visit her younger brother Gurami (UWCD’24) shared her reflections on the opportunities afforded to her by the family of Sergey Sarkisov and Rousudan Makhashvili, who supported Anano’s scholarship as well as scholarships of other Georgian students since 2014. Varda Avetisyan, entrepreneur and owner of Tava restaurant, helped make the festive dinner at our inaugural Alumni Reunion on 1 August a truly memorable occasion. Tava welcomed our alumni with a programme designed to reconnect them with Armenian traditions - from music to lavash-making.
This year, 15 of our students participated in the Fermat Contest, an international mathematics competition organised by the University of Waterloo’s Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing.
In 2024, Katya Guryeva (Russia, UWCD ’17) ran 862 km across Armenia along the Transcaucasian Trail, setting a Fastest Known Time with her team. Her journey is now featured in the short film Across Armenia, created by Katya and fellow UWCD alumni.
