A UWC Dilijan supporter Dr Grant Pogosyan, a member of the Founding Board and the Honorary Member of the Board of UWC Dilijan, Professor Emeritus at International Christian University in Tokyo, former Ambassador of Armenia to Japan, was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star by the Government of Japan at a ceremony in May. Dr Pogosyan was given the honour in recognition of his contribution to strengthening the relations between Japan and Armenia. The Order was established in 1875 by Emperor Meiji as the first national decoration of Japan.
