First donors to commit to supporting an annual scholarship to UWC Dilijan for the next five years.

Ruben Arutyunyan, together with his wife Anahit Antonyan, has supported the school from the very beginning. Entrepreneur, influencer, businessman and a global Armenian Ruben Harutyunyan has been one of the pioneers who has believed in, invested in and impacted Armenia’s future. Born and raised in Yerevan, he graduated from the State Engineering University of Armenia. In 1993 he moved to Moscow, Russia where he founded and became general director of the Henderson-Russia Group of Companies, which is currently the largest menswear retailer in Russia that manufactures its products worldwide.

Mr Arutyunyan and Ms Antonyan were the first people to support the 5th Anniversary campaign and have been supporters from the start.

Our alumnus Emilio Rosas Gutierrez (Mexico, UWCD'21) was awarded the Woodruff Scholarship from Emory University in Atlanta, USA, where he plans to major in art history or linguistics. During his two years in Dilijan, Emilio founded the mindfulness club at school, served on the Student and Community Councils and Sustainability Committee and was a facilitator for Dilijan Community Center’s art workshops with children.
