The Three Musketeers
  • Stories of Alumni

Here is what Pedro wrote about their friendship. “When we were asked to share a memorable story of our friendship, so many things, big and small, came to mind. Like from the time when the three of us were still students at UWCD, waking each other up for the morning classes, organising each other’s birthday surprises and meeting each other’s parents for the first time. Or the water fights in the dorms’ corridors (sorry, Madhu), the late-night study sessions before exams, or cozying up in our rooms, playing the guitar and singing while snacking on the cheese Sashka brought from Georgia. All the many little things that probably don’t seem like much from the outside, but which shaped our days in Dilijan and mean the world to the three of us. But the time in college, no matter how precious, wasn’t the most memorable part of our friendship either. In a way, it is the years after it that made our bond so strong. From the novelties of navigating our friendship from the three different countries and making sure we meet each other whenever and wherever possible, to being there for each other through heartbreaks, setbacks and the diseases of the loved ones as well as celebrating our little victories and achievements. And just as it used to be back in the days, if you put together Pedro, Sashka and Aleksandra, the three musketeers (as they started calling us at school) in one place, the whole canteen would hear the loudest laughter.”
