UWC Dilijan Announces Two Scholarships for Israeli Students Amid Global Challenges

UWC Dilijan is proud to announce two new scholarships by the Blavatnik Family Foundation for Israeli students to study on its campus in Armenia. These specially designated scholarships for Israeli students are a first in the school’s 10-year history. “Providing quality education promotes knowledge, understanding, and peace throughout the world,” said Len Blavatnik, founder of Access Industries and the Blavatnik Family Foundation.

In response to the growing global challenges and rising tensions, UWC Dilijan, part of the global United World Colleges (UWC) movement, remains committed to its mission “to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.” Aligned with the values of the UWC movement, UWC Dilijan continues to focus on the power of education as a force for building bridges among nations.

These scholarships offer a unique opportunity for Israeli students to immerse themselves in a diverse, multicultural environment alongside peers from more than 80 countries, encouraging dialogue, empathy, and global citizenship. "Now, more than ever, our world needs spaces where young people from different backgrounds can come together to learn, engage, and understand one another," said Veronika Zonabend, Co-Founder and Chair of the Board, at UWC Dilijan. "This scholarship initiative reflects UWC's unwavering belief in the importance of education in fostering peace and promoting mutual respect, even in the most challenging of times."

UWC Dilijan is known for its commitment to values of intercultural understanding and sustainability. The addition of these scholarships for Israeli students is a meaningful step in promoting a foundation for dialogue and long-term peace building.

As UWC Dilijan opens its doors to students from Israel, it affirms its dedication to inclusivity, offering an unparalleled opportunity for young people to develop the skills and values needed to become agents of positive change in a complex world.

The scholarships are part of UWC’s and UWC Dilijan’s broader efforts to ensure that students from all walks of life, regardless of financial background or nationality, have access to quality education in an environment that promotes mutual respect and understanding. This latest initiative reflects UWC's core belief that education has the power to unite people in the pursuit of a better, more peaceful and harmonious world.
