Zita Nweke Reflects on African Focus Week

The African Focus Week presented a unique challenge for us all. For me in particular, I had never really had the opportunity to partake in such a meaningful sharing of culture. It offered a wonderful chance to showcase my personal connection to my country while also educating myself about other African nations in the process. I had a truly enriching experience, and I realised that this shared challenge brought the African community as a whole closer together. The privilege of presenting the culture, history, and joy of the African continent on such a global stage will forever remain timeless. From the countless dance practices, to the educational sessions on African revolutionaries, and finally presenting at the Regional Evening, this experience was truly an honour. - Zita Nweke, (Nigeria , UWCD'27)
