We are very grateful to Mr. Alexander Tynkovan who has established and generously supported the first-ever scholarship for Moldovan students in UWC Dilijan. Mr. Tynkovan’s tremendous generosity enables us to maintain ethnic diversity, the cornerstone of the UWC ethos, bringing people together to foster mutual understanding and peace.

Mr. Andrey Dobrov and his family are generously supporting scholarships for students in UWC Dilijan starting from this academic year. In June, Mr. Dobrov visited our campus for the first time to get to know the school and learn about the UWC educational model. This led to Mr. Dobrov and his family establishing a special scholarship programme. We welcome Mr. Dobrov and his family to the UWCD community and are honoured to have them among our donors.
Recently, the Founding Patron of UWC Dilijan Anna Afeyan visited the campus for the first time after the pandemic. "It was exciting to see the school again… I met with students, of course, many times before but I missed them. They are the heart of the school," said Anna Afeyan.
A UWC Dilijan supporter Dr Grant Pogosyan, a member of the Founding Board and the Honorary Member of the Board of UWC Dilijan, Professor Emeritus at International Christian University in Tokyo, former Ambassador of Armenia to Japan, was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star by the Government of Japan at a ceremony in May.
Lord Darzi established a scholarship in honour of his mother Digranouhi Darzi. He is an academic surgeon and holds the Paul Hamlyn Chair of Surgery at Imperial College London, specialising in the field of minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery, having pioneered many new techniques and technologies. Lord Darzi is co-director of the Institute of Global Health Innovation and the NIHR Imperial Patient Safety Translational Research Centre at Imperial College London.
Geert Duyck and Inge De Lathauwer and their family established a scholarship for an Indonesian student to attend UWC Dilijan starting this September.
Ms. Carol Bagdasarian Aslanian, President and Founder of Aslanian Market Research, has just finished her term as a member of the UWCD Board of Governors.
