Teacher of Violin
Bio
I was born into an artistic family. My father is a violinist, and my mother is an artist. I began performing as a soloist at the age of 13, touring with a talented group of young Armenian musicians in the USA, UK, and Europe. During my studies in London, I had the chance to lead the RCM Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Bernard Haitink. I then founded the Vardanyan String Quartet, which has performed numerous concerts in some of the most famous halls in the UK and other countries. After completing my studies abroad, I returned to Armenia. Since 2011, I have served as the concertmaster and 1st violinist of the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia. In 2018, my colleagues and I founded the Armenian String Quartet, which has toured in Australia and France. I have taught violin at a Catholic school in the UK and continued teaching at the Yerevan State Conservatory. Teaching violin at UWCD is a unique experience for me, as we connect with students from many different nationalities and cultures. Students are always eager to discover more Armenian music, which I am always happy to introduce to them.
