Bio
I am originally from Cuba and grew up in Ecuador before moving to South Korea to study Biomedical Engineering at Korea University. Alongside my studies, I have always been drawn to working with children and discovering creative ways to make learning engaging and meaningful. I have experience tutoring English and working with children of different ages, which has taught me that every child learns in their own unique way. I enjoy creating a warm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and being curious.  I am especially excited by opportunities to learn from the people around me and believe that some of the best learning happens when we are curious together.

What is your favourite part of working with students?
My favourite part is seeing the moment when something suddenly clicks for a student. I love watching their confidence grow as they realise they can do something they once thought was difficult. I also enjoy getting to know each student as an individual and discovering what makes them curious, excited, or motivated to learn.

Which teaching method do you prefer and why?
I prefer a student-centred and interactive approach. I believe children learn best when they are actively involved rather than simply listening. I like using games, activities, creativity, and real-life examples to make learning feel natural and enjoyable. I also try to adapt my approach to each student, because what works wonderfully for one child may not work for another.

Who inspires you?
My mom has always been my biggest inspiration. I have always looked up to her, and she has always challenged me to grow, push myself, and do my best. She taught me not to be afraid of challenges and to always strive to become a better version of myself. A lot of the way I approach life and learning comes from watching her.

What is your life motto?
“Por la anécdota.”

I love this phrase because it reminds me that even when things don't go exactly as planned, there is usually a story to tell afterwards. I try not to take life too seriously and to embrace new experiences, even when they are a little chaotic. At the end of the day, the unexpected moments often become the best memories.

What are three things you can't imagine your life without?
Books, music, and the people I love.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love doing puzzles, reading, exploring new places, and learning new things just because I am curious about them. I especially enjoy projects that involve using my hands, whether that's painting, crocheting, crafting, or figuring out how to make something from scratch. I like keeping my mind busy and always having a little project to work on. I also love spending time with my husband, whether we're going on little adventures, trying new activities, exploring somewhere new, or simply enjoying a quiet day together.
