Bio
Born in Syria from an Armenian descendant. After getting a Master’s degree of Science in Analytical Chemistry from the American University of Beirut, I wanted to continue working in the scientific research field. I became more passionate about my projects that involved researchers from many other departments at the university. After moving to Armenia, I worked at UWC Dilijan for six years as a laboratory technician and an IB- DP chemistry teacher, and for two years as a chemistry teacher at UWC Adriatic. I try my best to deliver my passion for science to my students, so the lessons become more enjoyable.

What is the favourite part of the course you teach?
I enjoy performing experiments with my students and always look forward to their questions and answers that lead to a deeper understanding of the subject.

Which teaching method do you prefer and why?
I prefer inquiry based questions. Having students from a very diverse educational backgrounds, I encourage the students to feel secure to ask their own questions that help them grasp the concepts in their own way and help them to be able to answer IB type questions.

Who is your role model or mentor or who inspires you?
A lot of people inspire me, one example is the US physician Jonas Salk who created the polio vaccine that saved millions of lives in the world and did not profit from sharing the formulation or production processes. He believed in the equitable access to his vaccine, and understood that elimination efforts would not work without universal low- or no-cost vaccination.

What is your life motto?
Only honesty and justice can make this world a better place.

What are the three things you can't imagine your life without?
God, homeland, and family.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to watch documentaries and connect with friends.
