Bio
With more than 20 years of professional experience across diplomacy, education, the financial sector, and international student mobility, I have dedicated the past decade to helping young people discover and pursue educational opportunities that can shape their futures. As an EducationUSA Adviser for seven years, I provided individualised guidance to more than 500 students annually and supported over 200 students in securing admission to highly selective universities in the United States and around the world, with the majority receiving significant financial aid and scholarships. Beyond one-on-one counselling, I have designed career exploration programmes for hundreds of students and trained educators on the responsible use of AI in education. I believe university counselling is about far more than choosing a university—it's about helping students discover who they are, recognise their strengths, and find the confidence to pursue a path that is uniquely their own.

What is the favourite part of the course you teach?

Although I don't teach a formal course, my favourite part of working with students is facilitating sessions on the soft skills that are essential not only for successful university applications but also for life beyond school. I especially enjoy helping students reflect on their strengths, values, and aspirations, develop their storytelling skills, and build the confidence to present their authentic selves.

Which teaching method do you prefer and why?

I prefer an interactive, student-centered approach that encourages discussion, reflection, and active participation. Rather than simply providing answers, I enjoy guiding students to discover their strengths, think critically, and make informed decisions. I believe students learn best when they are engaged, feel heard, and can connect their learning to their own goals and aspirations.

Who is your role model or mentor or who inspires you?

I'm inspired by people who are passionate about helping others grow, lead with integrity, and never stop learning. My biggest source of motivation is my students—their curiosity, resilience, and willingness to dream big inspire me every day.

What is your life motto?

Every student has the potential to change the world—the right guidance helps them believe it.

What are the three things you can't imagine your life without?

My family, my friends, and the little moments that remind me to appreciate life—whether it's a meaningful conversation, a beautiful view, or a student's breakthrough.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

When I'm not working, you'll most likely find me planning my next trip, watching a great movie, or experimenting with new recipes
