Head of Admissions

My UWC Dilijan journey started in 2014 when my husband Jaime, a teacher, and I joined the school in its inaugural year. Appointed head of admissions in 2015, I also taught Spanish Ab Initio. I am an alumna of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and hold BA in Foreign Policy and Diplomacy and MA in International Relations. Diplomat by training, I have always wanted to experience other cultures and to work in a place that makes a positive impact in the lives of people. I have found both of these things together with inspiration, challenge and meaning in being a part of the non-profit educational project that is UWC Dilijan. One of the core things for me about our school is its commitment to deliberate diversity and how it aims to provide equal opportunities to all young people based on their personal merit and motivation and regardless of their socio-economic status.

I love playing chess and alpine skiing. Chess has always been a part of my life and I played competitively for 10 years, but alpine skiing is something I learned as an adult and it taught me how it is never late to discover a new passion and learn from scratch. I love reading, learning, having existential conversations, meeting people and hearing their stories. I have lived in eight different countries and each of them occupies a special place in my heart but home for me is not just a physical place, it is about people. I feel at home when I have inspiring and caring people around me, and the UWC Dilijan will always be one of our homes for me and my family, including my two sons.
