I was an activist, researcher and advocate in the fields of LGBT rights and women's rights (with a specific focus on sexual and gender-based violence) for about 15 years before attempting teaching four years ago. My academic interests and training are in feminist, postcolonial and critical animal studies, and I have lived and worked in India, the US and South Africa.
