Although born and raised in Sweden, I have also lived abroad for a number of years. I have studied in Scotland and England, and worked as a teacher in Vietnam, Norway (at UWC Red Cross Nordic) and Thailand. After having been back in Stockholm for the last few years, after our children were born, I am now excited to live and teach in this international and intercultural setting in Armenia.
What is the favourite part of the course you teach?
I really enjoy teaching about health, which can be done from many perspectives.
What is your ideal classroom environment?
The classroom environment is central for well-being and motivation, which in turn is central for learning. I work towards a task-oriented (as opposed to ego-oriented) climate where the innate psychological needs of autonomy, competence and relatedness are being satisfied (Self-Determination Theory). The ideal classroom environment also promotes health by strengthening the sense of coherence (SOC), consisting of the elements comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness. Anyone interested is very welcome to ask for a more extensive explanation.
Who is your role model or mentor or who inspires you?
Mum, dad and some others.
What is your life motto?
In every situation, do what is best for health. (With a broad definition of health that is, and health for me, other people, and the world.)
What are the three things you can't imagine your life without?
I can imagine my life without any given thing. In fact, I think that is a good thing to do now and then, in order to fully appreciate what there is.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Learn and work out.
