Bio
I was born and raised in Spain. It will always be a place to return to visit family and friends, although I have lived abroad for most of my life: in Ireland, England, China, Qatar, Italy and China once again. I came to Armenia after 5 years in UWC Changshu, where I taught a little bit of everything: Spanish ab initio, Spanish B, Spanish A Language & Literature, English B and also a pre-IB course of Spanish and English. Before IB, I have worked with the Montessori method, with the British curriculum in early years and also with adults in evening classes.
I always thought I would be doing engineering and playing with machinery, however, while studying Computer Engineering I realised I wanted to do something else in life. I wanted to interact with people, and I switched to teaching. I graduated as a teacher for primary education and a few years later I began specialising in teaching Spanish and English as foreign languages. I am currently studying a master in Hispanic Literature and, as a long-term project, I continue little by little with a degree in Psychology. I believe in lifelong learning.
What is the favourite part of the course you teach?
In the language acquisition course I love to see how students find their way from total chaos into understanding how the structure of the language works and creating their own sentences. To see the satisfaction in their face as they manage to communicate.
What are the three things you can't imagine your life without?
I could not imagine life without books, cooking/eating good food and discovering new things and places.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Drinking tea, reading books, listening to music, dreaming off… I’m a bit of a couch potato.
